St. Chad's Pre-school
54-56 Abbey Lane, Sheffield S8 0BP
As well as a warm and safe environment, our 6 'Aunties' provide fun and interesting activities that are carefully matched with age and development stage, helping your child to continually develop and learn about the world around them.
To assist us, we incorporate the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) with a primary focus on:
As your child continues to settle in to the setting, we also look at:
For each area, EYFS provides practise guidance describing the stages through which most children are likely to pass as they move towards achieving the Early Learning goal - the expected standard for most children by the end of their reception year of education. We use these to set standards for the learning, development and care of your children helping us to both track progress and provide the right range of activities to stimulate and nurture.
At the start of their time with us, each child is given a Key Person that works with you to ensure that the pre-school is providing the right environment for your individual child. Your Key Person will help your child to settle in and will also be responsible for observations and records of achievement - confidential 'Development Records' which we encourage you to view and contribute too.
We are currently open for 38 weeks of the year - to co-incide with school dates (Abbey Lane is situated just opposite the pre-school). Please see below for our 2016-2017 term dates.
