We will be reopening on Tuesday 30th June for children moving on to school in September. We will be running sessions on Tuesday and Friday mornings only. We anticipate a maximum of 10 children and will run with 3 staff, keeping our ‘bubble’ at a maximum of 13. No other groups will be using Church House.
There are some differences to the way we will operate for everyone’s safety.
Most importantly, if you or any of your family have any symptoms of Covid-19 (temperature, new and persistent cough, loss of taste or smell), please follow the government guidance and isolate and DO NOT attend pre-school until you have had a negative test result. If you have had contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, please follow government guidance and isolate and DO NOT attend pre-school until you have had a negative test result.
We are also relying on everyone following the government guidance on social distancing. If you are not abiding by this guidance DO NOT attend pre-school. It is our responsibility to ensure everyone is as safe as possible.
In order to minimise congestion, you will be able to drop your child off at any point between 8.45-9.15 and pick up at any point between 11.15-11.45. There will be markers on the pavement to ensure social distancing whilst waiting. We ask that one person from each family will do drop off and pick up wherever possible to limit contacts. Drop off and collection will take place at the main gate, no one other than children and staff will be allowed on the premises. Please prepare your child for this.
We ask that you apply sunscreen to your child before they arrive and that they bring a sunhat from home. We will be using the outside space as much as possible.
We ask that they do not bring anything else from home such as toys or books.
We know this isn’t how we usually operate. These are changes that have had to be made because of coronavirus as the safety and wellbeing of our children, families and staff is our priority.
However, we want to let you know there are some things that will not change. Social distancing will not apply to the children and staff once they are on pre-school premises and no masks or visors will be worn unless a child becomes sick mid-session (in accordance with government guidance). This means children will be able to play with their friends in the same way they always have done and the aunties will care for your child in the usual way, including changing their clothes and wiping noses if necessary and giving hugs if instigated by the child. We will still offer a mid-morning snack and drink. We will still have a range of toys and resources covering all aspects of the curriculum as well as activities in small groups. Our emphasis will remain on building strong bonds to give children confidence and independence as they learn through play and first hand experiences.
We are so excited to see you and get back to pre-school!
